Active User Group: maintains
a user group to share information
Block footnote tagging: allows users to block tag their
footnotes per the SEC rule proposal
Detailed footnote tagging: allows users to do detailed
tagging of footnotes per the SEC rule proposal
Handles changes to the taxonomy: when new taxonomies are
released from XBRL US, how does the tool or service incorporate those changes
Has search capabilities: allows users to “search” to find
appropriate elements/tags
Internal mapping: tool or service can map client’s internal
financial management system to the taxonomy for seamless integration into
clients systems
Load time: describes time it takes to load the software
Processing time: describes time it takes to perform
specific task within the software
Provides tags not chosen: service provides client with
their recommended elements for client’s financial statement captions and also
provides a sample list of other tags that were not chosen so that the client can
review and determine if the proper elements were selected to best reflect their
financial statement
Rendering: allows a completed XBRL-formatted document to be
transformed into human-readable form
Trial available: allows trial period to test out tool or
service
Turnaround time: number of days it takes a service provider
to provide a fully mapped financial statement back to client for their review
Updates: explains how new releases or updates to the
software are made available
Validation: checks a completed XBRL-formatted financial
statement to ensure it complies with XBRL specifications
